The Silent Theft: Unveiling the Billion-Dollar Scams Against Seniors

March 20, 20241 min read

Loved ones are getting robbed and it's happening right before our eyes. This all according to an FBI report that came out just this week to tell us.

What's the deal with these scams!

Just like we talk to our kids about stranger danger, we kind have to talk to our parents, neighbors and loved ones about stranger danger.

So let's go over the top three reported scams according to the FBI:

#1: Tech scams. For example you get a text message that says: did you spend $500 at a store? You reply No!

#2 Data Breach Scams. Yes, data breaches happen all the time.

#3 Confidence Scams and Romance Scams.

For Romance Scams, they pretend to be a real person. The real person has an address and photos but they just steal them. They convince the person to give them money.

The confidence scam, we call it the Grandparent Scam... somebody is impersonating a loved one.

Because you can very easily find relatives names and numbers online. They say they're in

trouble and need money for bail.
